Here’s my “AH HAH” moment with wine …
I was 20 and hitchhiking through Europe. The first night in Paris I stayed at a hostel and went out for dinner at a tiny café. We ordered the house wine, which came out in a jug. I have no recollection of what was in the jug, just that it was perfect for the occasion and made me want to try every “house” wine I came across for the rest of my trip. This sparked a life-long interest in how wine is made, where it comes from, and how it pairs with and complements food.
With encouragement from Joe Kotnik and his belief I could sell wine, I landed at Rootstock. Perfect!
